Take your favorite crispy jack nuggets on an adventure in this new Orange Nugget Stir-Fry, all from the comfort of your home. This delicious meal combines a zesty, homemade orange sauce with our nuggets, accompanied by rice and veggies to create a delicious stir-fry.
Ingredients
- 1 package of jack & annie’s crispy jack nuggets
- Juice of 2 oranges
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp finely minced fresh ginger (or ¼ tsp powdered ginger)
- 2 garlic cloves finely minced or (¼ tsp garlic powder)
- ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Zest of 1 orange
Preparation
- In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stir together the juice from the oranges, sugar, rice vinegar or white wine vinegar, soy sauce, ginger and garlic. If desired, add red chili flakes for a bit of spice.
- Heat the sauce mixture for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the heated sauce ingredients, stirring well. Continue heating for another 5 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken.
- Remove the sauce from heat and stir in the orange zest. Set aside.
- In a large skillet preheated over medium-high heat, add 1 tsp of oil and the frozen stir-fry vegetables. Stir occasionally until the vegetables are heated through. Transfer the vegetables to a plate and keep them warm.
- In the same skillet at medium-high heat, add 1 tsp of oil and the jack & annie’s crispy jack nuggets. Cook for 4 minutes on each side until heated through.
- Return the stir-fry vegetables to the skillet and pour in the orange sauce. Stir everything together until the nuggets and vegetables are evenly coated with the sauce.
- Serve the orange chicken over a bed of cooked rice and garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
